Academic  Guidelines

Admission Criteria

  • C.Th., – 10th STD pass/fail
  • D. Th.,- 10th STD pass
  • B.Th., – 12th STD pass/fail
  • M.Div.,- B.Th., or any Bachelor degree / 12th STD pass with 5 years of ministry experience with a qualified exam pass.

Lectures

For one year there will be two days contact seminar in every month from June to March of any given academic year. In each seminar one or two subjects would be taught. The seminar timing will be from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. Assignments for those subjects should be submitted and the examinations should be written in next seminar. This system facilitates the admissions to be given to students at any month of the year. All classes should be attended. In any case of absence from class, prior permission should be granted from the lecturer. Students must attend at least 80% of the classes for successful completion of a course. A thesis in final year of student’s choice must be written for 50 pages (approximately 500 words per page) for B.Th candidates, 100 pages for M. Div. candidates.

Grading System

A credit hour is normally defined as 12 hours of formal classroom instruction students are advised that at least two hours of private study would be expected for one hour classroom instruction.

A course is normally of two or three credit hours a programme of study is an aggregation of credit hours. This aggregate composed of core (Compulsory) subjects (11 for C.Th., 22 for D.Th., 33- B.Th.,) and elective subjects which may relate to areas of specialized interest of the student.

The Grading Scale

For the graduation of Certificate / diploma and Bachelor of theology minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 1.0 (C – average) on a 5.0 scale. But for those seeking admission to Diploma of Theology and Bachelor of Theology after completion of Certificate of Theology should have minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (C+ average) on a 5.0 scale from their previous study.

Administration of STI

The highest body in STI is the Board of Governors. They make the appointments of all the principal officers of the institute and make all major decision for the direction and future of the institute. The day to day running of the institute is handled by the principal and the administrative staff. Regular reporting and reviewing by Board of Directors will be done.

The Governing board of STI comprises trustees of SAT, pastors and lay leaders who are dedicated to the ministry of the Kingdom of God and willing to make decisions inline with vision and mission of STI based on the teaching of the word of God for the glory of Almighty and to benefit of his Church which works for the Kingdom of God.

Principal and administrative staffs of the college are men/women who are God fearing and friendly to support the students to encage fully in their process of learning for the future ministry of the Kingdom of God.
